1939
The Beginning
Zimplow was founded as an animal-drawn implements manufacturer, helping farmers access practical equipment suited to local agricultural conditions.
This foundation established the engineering knowledge, manufacturing discipline and customer focus that would shape the Group for generations.
1951
Entering the Stock Exchange
The company was listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, marking an important stage in its institutional growth and corporate development.
The listing provided a stronger platform for expansion, accountability and long-term investment.
2006
Entering the Fasteners Market
Zimplow expanded into specialised industrial fasteners through the acquisition of CT Bolts.
This strengthened the Group’s ability to serve mining, construction, agriculture and infrastructure customers with bolts, nuts, threaded rods and related solutions.
2008
Consolidating Industrial Capability
The acquisition of Tassburg further strengthened Zimplow’s position in the fasteners market.
The move supported the Group’s wider industrial-growth strategy and broadened its technical product offering.
2011
Expanding Equipment Expertise
Zimplow acquired African Traction and Associated Technologies, commonly known as Afritrac.
This expanded the Group’s participation in equipment distribution and strengthened its technical and after-sales capabilities.
2013
Strategic Restructuring
The Group entered a major restructuring phase focused on simplifying operations, improving efficiency and strengthening its corporate identity.
This period included the disposal of selected assets, organisational realignment and the development of a more focused operating model.
2015
Refining the Strategy
Zimplow implemented a rationalisation and restructuring strategy across its business units.
The strategy focused resources on priority sectors, improved operational performance and prepared the Group for its next phase of growth.
2021
Expanding the Group Portfolio
Zimplow acquired Scanlink, TrenTyre and Birmingham Properties.
These acquisitions expanded the Group’s presence in commercial transport, tyre management, logistics support and strategic property infrastructure.
2022
Restoring Tractive Power Solutions
Tractive Power Holdings was revived and repositioned as Tractive Power Solutions.
This development strengthened Zimplow’s participation in equipment, power and industrial solutions.
2024
Improving Operational Efficiency
The Group implemented staff rationalisation and operational improvements to create a leaner, more agile organisation.
The changes were designed to strengthen efficiency, accountability and long-term performance.
